Read below to see why people, like you, choose to support Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri.
"I give to Girl Scouts is because there is no other national organization, founded by a woman, geared towards advancing the character and potential of young women regardless of race, social-economic status or religion. Girl Scouting is unique - it allows for the opportunity to develop life-long skills including, self-reliance, respect, teamwork and leadership."
– Kimberlee Ried
"Many of my adult friends ask me why I continue to be involved with Girl Scouts since my daughter had graduated and I no longer have a troop. The answer is simple: I love the program and all it means for the girls who are the future of our county. The GSUSA tagline has changed and evolved over the years, but whether we are trying to reach "Every Girl Every Where," or professing to be an organization where "Girls Grow Strong," or striving to fill girls with "Courage, Confidence and Character," I am proud to be part of the premier organization for girls in the United States."
- Elizabeth Boman
"I loved my years as a Girl Scout and remember making a green folder to save ideas for my own troop some day. When I had a daughter, I couldn’t wait until she was a Daisy, and I could be her leader. What I like the most about Girl Scouts is it is all inclusive! Life is about learning to adapt and accept everyone, and Girl Scouts teaches that. Each troop is a team and we learn to compromise and support each other despite our differences. Girl Scouts is about teaching girls to become strong women."

Girls today need the support, encouragement and attention of caring
adults as much if not more than ever before. While many doors have
opened for young girls, many obstacles stand in the path of their
healthy development. Look at a few dismaying statistics:
- 41% of pre-teen girls are afraid of being bullied;
- Six of every ten teen girls diet - 12% go to extremes like vomiting, laxatives
and diuretics;
- One in four girls say they want to leave home because of violence
- 18.6% of high school girls plan to major in science and engineering while 64% of their male counterparts plan to do so.
Girl Scouting offers an antidote to these very real problems. But
we need your help. Now's the time for you to commit to a girl. Your
time, your talent and your financial contributions help more than 35,000
girls across the communities our council serves get a head start in life.
